Back in 1998, three independent oil companies tried to enter the New Zealand market. 16 years later only Gull has survived the test of time and we are proud to say that we are still family-owned and totally focused on our loyal customer base.

In a marketplace dominated by the big guys, Gull offers New Zealand motorists choice. Choice in fuel prices, choice for independent businesses and choice for the environment. We care about you, we care about our country and we care about fuel - by crafting the best out there.

Gull has earned several “firsts” in our category. We were the first to sell low sulphur diesel in New Zealand back in 2002. The first to bring a biofuel to market in New Zealand with Gull Force 10 - and the first oil companyto pass on value to the Kiwi motorist by keeping prices down and not putting profit before our customers.

We think our fuel is top notch and better than any of our competitors’. We are here to stay and want to fuel your fun for another 16 years, so thank you! We appreciate your role in getting us to where we are today.

How much does price matter when it comes to petrol?

Campbell Live asked this question and here is what they found.

“Every year the average motorist spends between $3000 and $6000 on petrol, and for most people it's a significant financial burden.

But in recent months competition between service stations has been heating up, with the price of petrol varying like never before”.

General Manager of Gull New Zealand Dave Bodger says, ‘we’ve kept our pricing consistent while the other stations are charging up to 10c per litre more.  It’s about thinking what’s good for the motorist, family owned values, and keeping our overheads low’.
